That is it for this year. Today was my last day of freelancing and I have deliberately nothing booked in for January. I’m giving myself some proper time off to focus on getting organised for next year and most importantly, to finally give byflock my full attention.
I’ll continue to freelance for the foreseeable future, but the plan for 2013 is to do it with a bit more time off in between contracts. What I’ve started over the last year and a half in terms of speaking, teaching and writing commitments is still something I want to pursue, but juggling that with full time freelance contracts and byflock, all at the same time, is a bit too time consuming. No surprise there and it’s part of the reason why byflock has taken a bit of a back seat.
Freelancing has had its ups and downs but generally I’ve had a really good year. I’ve really enjoyed working with old friends and colleagues again and been fortunate enough to be working with some really talented teams on (mostly) very exciting projects. We’ll see what 2013 has to bring but I got a good feeling about it all.
Thank you to everyone that I’ve worked with this year. You’ve brightened up my days.
