If it’s one thing I’ll admit to this year, it’s not giving byflock the focus and priority that I said I would. Other work related things have continuously had to come first, but I’m finally in a position where that doesn’t have to be the case.
It’s Wednesday today and I have two days left of freelancing this year. Come Friday I’m officially off until some time in January. Monday next week is the only day I’ll be doing any freelance related meetings in town. The rest of the week is for sorting those things out that needs to be sorted before I go to Sweden, and for spending some time with D and the spotty one.
It would have been easy to fill next week with things to do and meetings with companies about potential freelance work. But, considering that I’m not taking on any new contracts until the end of January, there isn’t any hurry. All those things can wait. Right now is about stopping and just enjoying the lead up until I go back home. I’ve had it with commuting and seeing hours of my day disappear and quite frankly I just want to be at home and work on byflock. And to do the Christmassy things me and D had planned for December.
There may be some freelance work from this year straddling over into January but other than that I’m keeping it open and I can’t tell you how good that feels. It’s long over due and very longed for.
