Today I had lunch with an old colleague. We were discussing the future and how we would ideally like things to be with work and life outside of work. I told my old colleague about byflock and the reaction was really positive. In fact I think I could see a spark go off.
The more I talk to people about the thinking and the vision for byflock, and why it is the concept that it is, the more I realise that I am in the process of creating my dream job and setup. And a big part of that is about creating an environment and model that the people involved are just as excited and happy about. One that makes a spark go off, visibly, as you first tell them about us. In other words, if things go to plan, byflock will be helping lots of other people’s dreams come true. Both in terms of life in the office (where ever that may be) and life outside it. And that, that is what really drives me.
There is no question about it that I’m giving myself a lot of work for years to come and when those little feet eventually start to walk around the house I know it will be extra challenging at times. I probably, or rather most certainly, don’t realise just how more demanding it will be, but it will also be so much more rewarding. I really believe in the idea behind byflock and I’m so excited to move into more of an actual existence next year.
