A year ago I hadn’t been to this amazing city. Tonight I arrived for the third time and we got a week here ahead of us exploring a more non-touristy stay.
Our first time here we stayed in a hotel but this time we decided to rent a flat through Airbnb and I’m so pleased we did. There is no denying that New York is expensive so renting a flat is definitely a cheaper option but more than anything we wanted to experience New York more like locals. And that we’ve certainly achieved.
A very slow immigration meant that we arrived into town a bit later than expected, but our host and her friend left the keys with a local shop owner and we got into the flat without any problems. It’s situated in the West Village, an area we fell in love with last year, and looks just like the pictures. Something we never doubted but until you arrive can’t be sure of.
It’s spacious and airy with really high ceilings, exposed brick walls and the iconic fire escapes outside the windows. And our host has been amazing. We couldn’t ask for anything more and our stay has come off to a great start.
