Today there is 100 days left of this year and with that comes a bit of excitement and a bit of “eek”. Hand on heart I’d expected to be much further than I am at the moment, but things are not so.
Doing is easy when you have the headspace and time to allocate to it. Doing becomes a lot harder when you’re pulled in too many directions and this year has definitely had a fair bit of that. However, it’s made me accomplish things I’ve been wanting to do work wise for quite some time and I know that having achieved those things will help with other things. Though I don’t like to admit it in some way I do think that the contract I was working on during the summer, and which slowed me down to almost a standstill, might have been a good thing. It taught me the need to really put down boundaries when it comes to freelancing, commitments and my own needs, but it’s also reassured me that this, this is what I want to do. And just because it doesn’t happen as fast as I ideally would want it to doesn’t mean it wont. It just means that for once making a big decision has resulted in a slower turn around time than what I’m normally used to and it has its benefits too. But now, I’d like to go back to the way things normally are with me and my big changes in life and turn up the speed somewhat.
