This week I’ve worked five days at the day job and it’s been a great variety of projects as well as byflock work. The commute is taking a little getting used to but other than that it’s great to be back in central London.
The next two weeks before we’re off to New York are quite busy and just as I tend to have an urge to tidy my desk when I have lots, on in the same way have I had an urge for a while now to finally get the office properly organised. And this weekend we’ve done just that. I’ve cleared out piles of old things and brought the rest in order. Having a proper desk and chair as well as storage has left me with a feeling of calmness and though it may seem silly, there is direct clear benefit with this.
Our minds can only cope with so much. The more unfinished business we have that bothers us the more that unfinished business can steal of our time and energy. Some people are better at handling it. I get a bit fidgety and a feeling of unsettledness fills me. Perhaps I should learn to be more laissez faire about it but that might take a while. This office situation has been in need of sorting out for some time and I’m incredibly relieved that have have. Say what you may say but I feel lighter and more motivated for it but most importantly of all, I feel a little bit more in control which is a nice feeling in this jumble of all the exciting things that are happening at the moment. The feeling of being in control means I don’t wake up in the morning feeling like I’m already running behind. It means that I easier allows myself a bit more sleep and generally get more energy. And though we can’t always go out and sort out the things that plays on our minds, when we can it’s worth doing it sooner rather than later to free up space in the mind to get on with the things that matter.
Tomorrow – Day 261 | If you got a problem, do something about it
