If I said that the weekend was great I’d be lying. A few too many things happened that stole a lot of energy and mind space on Sunday. Come Monday morning I felt like it was mid week already.
Drained, tired and generally not very motivated all I wanted to do was go home. But an old colleague of mine changed that. We used to work together a few years back and are now working at the same place again. For ages we’ve been meaning to go out for a drink and tonight we finally got to it and it completely made my day. In my miserable state I nearly cancelled in favour of going home, jumping into some comfy clothes and put on a movie, but we’d finally found a day that we both could do and I’d been looking forward to it. So we left work and went for a drink.
There is no denying that the glass of wine I had put an extra silver lining on the evening but more than anything our conversations and being in her company brightened up my mood.
Some people have the ability to do that to others. It doesn’t matter how well you know each other, or if you’re pretty much strangers, they have the gift of making you feel relaxed, to make you laugh and forget what ever it is that was troubling you. Somehow they always seem to bring out the best in you. My colleague she’s one of those people and had it not been for our little pub visit last night this week might have taken a different turn.
Tomorrow – Day 255 | Why not
