Back in March I went to SXSW. It was primarily for the Startup village and the part I miss the most since SXSW is being surrounded by other people who are either already working on a startup or thinking about it. It was an incredibly inspiring and motivating environment.
A large part of that was due to being around brilliant people, continuously learning and meeting new friends. But the other reason it was so inspiring and motivating was that for that whole week of SXSW and the week leading up to it I was more or less just doing byflock related things. I was living a small part of my dream and I loved every minute of it. I loved the sense of opportunity and that nothing is impossible that surrounded me. How you would exchange ideas with people, get a sincere and positive response when explaining what your own ideas and believes are about. Finally, I was one step closer to doing it.
When you meet so many people within such a short space of time who have already done it themselves or are thinking about doing it, you get a real push. If they can, then of course so can you. It’s just about doing it. Right now on this grey and rainy Monday when I’m sat with a splitting headache that part, just about doing it, feels very far away. I need a bit of an injection of startup excitement and motivation. To meet likeminded people, exchange experiences and learn from what others have done, and also to really get back into it. To start living the startup life. So, that’s what I’m doing something about. Over the next few week’s and before the games begin there’ll be visits to co-working places, further arrangements for the end of summer and fall. And I really can’t wait.
