This coming Thursday is the longest day of the year and that morning I’m off to Sweden for 6 days to celebrate Midsommar and have a little bit of time away with friends and family.
The last few months have been full steam ahead and it’s not a particularly great time for me to go away with the day job. But Midsommar is a once a year celebration and a time where friends and family come together and I’ve been looking forward to it for months.
Cancelling the trip was never an option. I did however initially offer to work remotely on the Monday and Tuesday after D’s gone back to London but there are two reasons why I won’t be doing that. I need a holiday but more importantly, this is time I’ve booked to be with my friends and family and that should not be taken over by work. That’s happening enough as it is already. Besides I do need a bit of me time and I also have a few chats with people that I want to see.
