The best and also the most time consuming bit of all of this is learning. Learning about new areas and aspects related to business that you’ve never come across before. Learning what various people are after and can offer, and not the least how you yourself react to the whole thing.
We’ve started talking to people about us and the products we’re working on and it’s really exciting but also very time consuming. It means doing research into the area of the type of person you’re talking to, learning about their company and the person themselves to see if they will be a good fit, and then not the least to take on board and reflect on what they are saying and advising, assessing where to go from there.
But it’s just as much about learning how to talk about yourself, your company, products and vision, ensuring that you come across in a way that is tangible and understandable. It’s about being clear in your messaging both for yourself and for others.
And out of all of this comes the aspect how you react and the signals different conversations sends you, but more on that another day.
