I’ve just arrived in Sweden and am here for the long weekend. Last night I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it over tonight. Then it looked up and then things took another turn.
When something happens that is out of your control, having an employer that is understanding and supportive is worth everything.
There is nothing so contagious than the sound of and seeing someone laugh. The child who giggles and giggle as their parents play with them. Or the joke that has everyone bending over laughing with tears.
Not too long ago I was asked the question how I balance it all, the day job, doing talks and teaching as well as working on byflock and our products, which to complicate matters further is more than one thing. The simple and honest answer is that I work. A
What characterised last week was probably scariness in small and bigger formats and how we learn something from every situation, both the ones we can control and the ones we can’t.
Yes, it’s a picture of kitty, again, but don’t worry. These posts will not start being about her. This one however is and about how we should learn to trust and listen to our gut instinct.
How time flies. Today is the 300th day of this year and that means there’s only 65 days left until we ring in 2013. 300 days equals 300 posts, not all written on the day itself, but written none the less.
I’m not a very big drinker and it’s very seldom that I have a glass of wine with dinner when I come home from work. But tonight I wanted one and boy did it taste good.
This morning I had two scares before 7am. The first one was how I woke up and the second one resulted in me calling D crying.

Being surrounded by people pursuing their own dreams is incredibly inspiring. The Web Summit was full of that and it gave me a fresh boost of inspiration and motivation to keep creating, work hard and not loose sight of the finish line.
Being at a conference surrounded by people pursuing their dream of starting and building a company is incredibly inspiring. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one wishing I had more time to dedicate to my own company and products. And before I knew it that’s just what I have.
Today, as I was sat in Dublin, tired and waiting for my evening flight home I was kicking myself. Yet again I’d put something else before my own well being and where had it landed me? Well, not in a place I wanted to be.
Today was the second day of the Web Summit and also the day I did my talk on the developer stage about numbers, context and how we can use data for decision making, the design process and in product design.
Today was the first day of the Web Summit in Dublin and it didn’t disappoint. The lineup of speakers was great and the floor was filled with friendly startups and attendees. And then there was the speakers dinner as well as the organised drinks on Dame Lane.
The last time I was in Dublin was 7 years ago. It was in the autumn of 2005, I lived in Copenhagen and had thoughts about moving abroad but wasn’t sure where. One of my best friends had just moved to London and another one was living in Dublin. And
When boarding our flight back to London on Saturday we were told the flight time would be one hour shorter due to strong winds working in our favour, but also that it would be quite bumpy. It was and we didn’t sleep very much on the way back.
Week 41 was the week we moved the office to the coffee shops of New York and the week where I, after much resistance, joined foursquare.
