Today I went for a long walk with a friend after work, criss crossing around central London and the South Bank. During that walk she told me she’s quitting her job and starting her own company.
I’m a dangerous person so speak to when it comes to following your dreams as I generally advise everyone to go for it. After a few years of trying to get things off the ground whilst freelancing and then taking the leap and do Glimt.it full time, I dont have any glorified views of what it takes. It’s hard work and other things have to give. Unless you have the support by your loved ones and can do it financially, it becomes very hard. That goes for a career change too, and at times for switching jobs. But equally, if you’re not in a job you love, or even like, that’s hard to. Both for yourself and your loved ones and over time I believe it has negative impacts on both.
Whether it’s setting up your own business, switching jobs or careers, if we are in a position where we can go after our dream job, then I believe we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to do so.
