Some days leave us as tired as if we’d gone for a long run or slept terribly despite us having done neither. Today was such a day, but it was a good tiredness.
I got back to our flat around 6 yesterday evening and within 3 hours I was asleep and the time in between was a struggle to stay awake. All the driving and tension around it combined with the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the vet visit drained me of all my energy. And that was despite having the loveliest of pub lunches out in Shillington.
I slept 9 hours last night and woke up feeling like a new and better me. Proud of daring to drive up to Bedfordshire on my own and for facing my fears. But doing so required energy, just as working really hard at something and thinking all day does. It’s a different kind of tiredness than a long run, but just as rewarding when the outcome is good. And the outcome was good today. The driving went really well and we think we have a possible cause for kitty’s episodes. One that isn’t related to cancer, neurological problems or anything equally as scary.
Tomorrow – Day 312 | We’re capable of more than we think
