One of the things that really gets to me when work is too busy is the lack of hours to allow for some me time. Today is the first time in what feels like ages that I’ve had some proper Anna time. And it’s been much needed.
This morning I opened the door to mum’s garden, prepared my breakfast, made a cup of coffee and sat down outside in the sunshine.
I’m doubtful the saying actually goes in English but directly translated from Swedish this was the first time that I properly ‘landed’ and was able to sit down and just have some time for myself, my thoughts and all the things that I’ve taken in over the last week.
Each and everyone of us are different when it comes to what gives us rest and energy. Though I feed of being around other people I have a big need for some me time, especially if the work day is hectic. I need some time where I can do the things I want to do. Be alone for a short while and catch up on or prepare the day ahead. And since I embarked on this journey whilst still working full time that need has only increased. There is so much I want to do when it comes to byflock and our products and more than anything that is what I need some me time for. It’s of course still work and work isn’t a holiday or time off, but doing something you love can sometimes be enough and provide you with a little of the same recharge, even if it actually involves a bit of work.
I’ve waited for what feels like ages now to get some time to properly get back into byflock and from next week I will. And I’m wholeheartedly intending to make the most of it. Take advantage of free wifi throughout London and sit in cafes I haven’t been to in ages. And though it won’t be a holiday it’s exactly the me time I look forward to having. Time where I decide what my day will look like and what I will be working on or doing.
