The last few months have felt like one long run with too many and too frequent sprints, but the finish line is now so close that I can feel it. Tomorrow is my last day full time in the office and soon I’ll be on holiday.
Just as with any long and hard run when you come closer to the end you forget all about the hurdles and the pains on the way there and your focus is solely on crossing that line and getting there as fast as you can.
Tonight Usain Bolt defended his gold medal in the Men’s 200m final and before the race the commentators were talking about how even in such a short and fast race as 200m, the runners analyse the situation and their competitors. There aren’t any competitors when it comes to me finishing off my contract but though situations to address and ensure that everything is left in good order and, as much as possible, a completed state. I had a sprint last week and thanks to that it looks like I can slow a little and enjoy the final leg before I cross my finish line tomorrow. Just like Bolt did tonight.
Tomorrow – Day 223 | It’s been emotional but good
