Every now and then the to do list piles up. Having it hang over you makes getting out of bed in the morning that little bit less exciting and, somehow, it makes getting things done a little bit harder too. But when you get on top of it, it’s a wonderful feeling.
There’s been quite a few things that needed doing lately. Fitting them in has been hard and having them hanging over me has meant a constant feeling of being one step behind. Not a good feeling to wake up with in the morning, or to go to bed with.
Last week I got a lot of them done and it’s brought an enormous sense of relief. A bit like a strenuous climb up a mountain where you reach the top and finally get to enjoy the view and take it all in. The quietness and the peace, the slight tiredness and sense of achievement around what you’ve just accomplished.
Being on top of things clears your head. It allows you to see things from a different angel and to see the bigger pictures. It’s where things, that in the midst of things seem hard to crack, all of a sudden fall into place. So, whether it’s a small mountain or a big one that’s really testing and pushing you to the limit, no matter what, once you reach the top take a moment to take in the view.
