Day 083 | The importance of staying connected

This week, with me being particularly tired, and the change in how I felt after our catch up yesterday, has reminded me of how important it is to me to have a co-founder and other people to talk to about the whole startup thing.

This week has been a little tough. Not for any other reason that I’ve been a bit tired after my US trip, starting a new job, sleeping a bit badly and generally having a lot to catch up on. Using this week as an example, I’ve debated whether I should only share the positive things in these posts but that wouldn’t give a true picture of the journey involved. It would be misleading, both for anyone who are reading these posts with the same thoughts in mind, and to me when I, at the age of 80, look back and read about the adventure that being part of starting my first real company was (yes, something tells me there will be more). So, early on I decided to be as honest as I can be.

To return to what this week has taught me, it’s that 1) some days will be harder than others, even if they actually aren’t but, 2) all that sometimes is needed is someone to lean on and 3) if you have a co-founder that you share the responsibility with, to be open and adaptable to each others need.
At times one of you may need some breathing space in terms of alone time, or an extra catch up. When it comes to me, yesterday was the perfect example of how a quick catch up made all the difference to me, re-charging my batteries.
